This course is tailored to the environment of a residential care home and aimed at all members of staff to understand fire safety precautions taken within the building and the actions to take in the event of a fire. It will highlight the importance of fire doors in protecting escape routes, giving time to conduct evacuations and will identify the different classes of fire they may experience and how to safely deal with it, should the need arise.
Wherever possible “Live-fire” practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out following a suitable risk assessment of the building and outside area.
